Ewing Township sits between Trenton and Hopewell, and it is home to The College of New Jersey. Most of its residential streets were built out in the postwar decades with capes, ranches, split-levels and modest colonials, mixed in with some older homes closer to the Trenton line. It is a practical, settled community, and the work homeowners ask for tends to be practical too: fix what is failing, and make the house a little nicer while you are at it.
Front steps and stoops
Small concrete stoops on Ewing ranches and capes often settle and crack, and some start to lean away from the house. We remove the old step and build new concrete steps on a proper footing. For a finished look, we can face the steps in stone veneer and top them with bluestone, then add new railings sized to code.
Concrete walks, patios and stamped finishes

Plain concrete is still a solid choice for walks and patios, and stamped concrete adds texture and color in a single pour. Our concrete services cover new walkways, patios, driveways and slab repair. We set control joints and slope every surface so water moves away from the house. Stamped surfaces get sealed when the work is done, and resealing every few years keeps them sharp.
Paver patios for backyard space
Many Ewing backyards are a good size for a patio with room to grow. A paver patio with steps down from the back door, a border in a contrasting color and maybe a fire pit gives the yard a clear purpose. We build on a compacted stone base with edge restraint, which is what keeps pavers from settling over time.
Foundations, parging and stucco
Postwar block foundations often show cracked or peeling parging, and some have step cracks in the block or damp spots after storms. We repair cracks, rebuild damaged sections and apply fresh parging. Stucco on porches and walls gets the same care: we fix what is underneath before refinishing the surface.
Before you start
- Township permits. Steps, retaining walls, driveways and aprons may need approval from the township. We handle it.
- Older concrete underneath. Removing an old stoop or walk sometimes reveals an earlier slab or footing. We explain what we find before going further.
- Drainage. New hard surfaces change where water goes. We plan for runoff so it stays away from your foundation.
- Season. Concrete cures best in mild weather, so spring and fall are popular. Book early to get your preferred dates.
We also serve Hopewell Township, Pennington and Lawrence Township. See all of Mercer County or our page for nearby Princeton.
