The City of Orange Township is a small, densely built city between East Orange and West Orange. It grew early, and its streets hold a mix of large Victorian houses, many now divided into apartments, plus two and three family homes and brick apartment buildings. Toward the west side the ground starts to rise toward the ridge, so some blocks are noticeably steeper than others. Almost everything here is old enough that masonry maintenance is a regular part of owning a building.
Rebuilding stoops and steps
Raised entries are common, and a crumbling stoop can be both a safety issue and a code issue on a multi-family building. We rebuild steps and stoops on proper footings in brick, stone veneer or concrete, with bluestone treads where they suit the house and railings anchored solidly into the masonry.
Stone veneer and stucco facades

Stucco covers many older Orange buildings, sometimes over brick and sometimes over wood framing. Once cracks let water in, damage spreads behind the surface. Our stucco services cover patching, full refinishing and new stucco, and we also install stone veneer at entries and foundations for a cleaner, more durable face.
Old brick, careful repairs
Victorian and early twentieth century brickwork often includes arches, decorative courses and chimneys that rise well above the roof. Signs it needs attention:
- mortar that crumbles when scratched
- cracks that step diagonally through the joints
- loose brick at chimney tops and parapets
- dark staining below windows and gutters
We repoint with a mortar suited to older brick and rebuild damaged sections with matching material.
Porches on older houses
Big front porches sit on brick or stone piers that settle over time. We rebuild piers and footings, and Pro One also does porch framing and roofing, so the entire porch can be put right in one job.
City jobs, city logistics
Street parking is limited and buildings are close together. We plan deliveries, protect the sidewalk and keep neighbors’ access open. City permits may be required for stoops, sidewalks and structural work, and historic district rules may apply to some buildings.
