Bound Brook sits on the north bank of the Raritan River, a small, densely built borough with a busy Main Street and train station. Most houses are older two story homes, twins and small multifamily buildings on narrow lots, often with a short front yard, a concrete stoop and a driveway squeezed along one side. The borough also has a long and well known history of flooding from the river and the Green Brook, and that history shapes how we approach almost every job in town.
Water comes first
Before we talk about new concrete, we look at where water goes. Downspouts that dump next to the foundation, walks that tip toward the house and low spots along the side yard all push water into older basements. Many Bound Brook basements have block or stone walls that were never built to stay dry. We start with grading and surfaces, then offer basement waterproofing and crack repair where the walls need it.
Driveways on narrow lots

Side driveways here take daily traffic and plenty of road salt. When the slab breaks up or settles, we remove it, rebuild the base with compacted stone and pour new concrete driveways pitched toward the street, with control joints placed so cracks stay where we want them.
Stoops, steps and short front walks
Concrete stoops that sit close to the sidewalk take the brunt of winter. We rebuild them on footings below the frost line, add sturdy railings and pour a fresh walk to the sidewalk. Older brick on porches and foundations can also be repointed so the joints stop letting water in.
Before you call
- Flood zone status. Know whether your lot is mapped in a flood hazard area, or we can help you find out.
- Borough approvals. Steps, aprons and sidewalk work may need a permit from the building department.
- Parking and access. Street parking is tight, so we plan deliveries and the dumpster in advance.
Across the river is South Bound Brook, and Bridgewater wraps around the borough to the north and west. See all of Somerset County or book a free estimate and we will come take a look.
