Teterboro is not a typical Bergen County town. It is one of the smallest municipalities in New Jersey by population, and most of its land is taken up by Teterboro Airport and the warehouses and businesses around it. There are only a handful of homes. The borough sits in the Meadowlands, on flat, low ground that was once wetland, so water and soft soil are the main things to think about for any concrete or masonry work.
What we can help with here
Because the borough is mostly non-residential, the requests we would expect are practical repairs rather than backyard patios:
- cracked or heaved concrete walkways and entry pads
- entry steps with broken nosings or loose railings
- crumbling block walls along driveways or property lines
- slab cracks that let water into a building
For worn surfaces that are still sound, concrete repair and resurfacing can extend their life. Wall and slab leaks can often be handled with targeted crack repair.
Building on Meadowlands soil

Former marshland settles more than upland soil. New concrete here needs a well-compacted stone base, and on softer spots we dig out more of the weak material before forming. Control joints are spaced so that any movement shows up as a neat line instead of a random crack. Where a new slab meets an older one, we dowel or isolate the joint so the two can move independently without breaking each other.
Flat ground, careful drainage
With almost no natural slope, puddles form wherever a slab is a little low. We check grades with a level before pouring and pitch every surface toward somewhere water can go. Flood zone rules may apply in parts of the Meadowlands, and we confirm requirements before planning work.
Because Teterboro sits so close to the airport, we keep deliveries, debris and dust under control and leave the site clean at the end of each day. Small, well-organized jobs are easier on everyone working nearby.
Steps and block work
Entry steps at commercial doors and the few residential properties in town see a lot of use. We rebuild them as poured concrete steps on proper footings, and we repair or rebuild block walls with new mortar, caps and drainage where needed.
