Long Branch is an oceanfront city with a long stretch of beach and a wide range of homes. Near the water you find newer stucco houses and condos alongside older shore cottages, while neighborhoods farther from the beach have a mix of older single family homes, twins and multi-family buildings. What they share is exposure. Salt air, wind driven rain and sandy ground wear masonry down faster than they do inland.
Pool decks that stand up to sun and salt
Backyard pools are common here, and the deck around a shore pool works hard. Sun fades the surface, pool water and salt get into the joints, and sandy soil can let sections settle. Our pool masonry work rebuilds coping and decks in pavers or stamped concrete on a well compacted base. We pitch the deck away from the pool and the house, and choose a surface texture that stays comfortable and less slippery underfoot.
Stucco that keeps water out

Stucco is everywhere in Long Branch, and coastal weather is tough on it. Hairline cracks let wind driven rain in, and stains or soft spots near windows and the base of the wall are warning signs. Our stucco repairs address the cause, not just the surface. We cut out damaged sections, repair the base, and refinish so the patch blends with the wall.
Steps and entries near the beach
Front steps here take salt from the air and from winter treatment on the walks. Spalled treads, rusted railing posts and cracked landings are common. We rebuild steps on solid footings with dense, properly cured concrete, or in block and stone veneer with bluestone treads. Railings built for coastal exposure help them last.
Patios on sand, and keeping basements dry
Sand drains well but moves easily. A patio or walkway here needs a deeper compacted base and firm edge restraint, or it drifts. For homes with basements or crawl spaces in low areas, high groundwater after storms is a real concern, and we offer foundation waterproofing matched to what we find.
Shore planning checklist
- Flood zone rules. Many lots near the ocean and inlets fall in a flood zone, which can affect fill, grading and elevation. We check first.
- City permits. Pool decks, steps and structural masonry may need approval from the city. We take care of it.
- Summer timing. If you want the deck ready for beach season, plan your estimate in winter.
- Maintenance. Rinsing salt off steps and railings in season and resealing where needed adds years of life.
We also work in Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, West Long Branch and Deal. See all of Monmouth County or our page for nearby Red Bank.
