Pool Decks, Driveways and Patios for Manalapan, NJ Homes

Much of Manalapan was built out as suburban neighborhoods, and a lot of that original concrete is now reaching the end of its life. We replace it with pool decks, driveways and patios built to last.

Gray paver pool deck around a rectangular in-ground pool

Manalapan is a large suburban township in western Monmouth County, made up mostly of neighborhoods of colonials and split levels built in waves over the last several decades, plus newer developments on larger lots. Many homes have in-ground pools, two car garages and wide front lawns. The ground is fairly gentle, so the challenges here are less about steep slopes and more about age: the driveways, walkways and pool surrounds put in when the house was built are now cracked, sunken or faded.

Replacing the original pool surround

A pool deck from the original build often shows the same problems: settled slabs near the coping, open joints, and a surface that has worn rough. Our pool masonry work removes the old deck, rebuilds the base and installs new coping with pavers or stamped concrete. We pitch everything away from the water and the house so rain does not collect along the coping.

Driveways sized for a busy household

Driveways here see daily traffic, delivery trucks and basketball games. When the concrete has scaled or the asphalt has alligatored, we replace it in poured concrete or as a paver driveway built on compacted stone with solid edging. Pavers cost more up front than plain concrete, but a damaged section can be lifted and relaid instead of patched.

Backyard rooms behind the colonial

Large tan paver patio with a curved border behind a stucco home

Many families want the space between the back door and the pool to work as one area. A paver patio with a curved edge, a fire pit, seat walls and low step lighting can tie the yard together. We plan the layout so walking paths stay clear of the pool fence and gates.

A short checklist for Manalapan projects

  • Check association rules before choosing colors or materials.
  • Confirm whether the work needs a township permit, especially aprons and pool areas.
  • Mark sprinkler lines and invisible pet fences before demolition.
  • Book early in the year if you want the pool area done before summer.

We also serve nearby Englishtown, Marlboro and the rest of Monmouth County.

FAQ

Manalapan, NJ FAQs

Can’t find your answer? Call us at (973) 874-8169.

Our pool deck is the original concrete. Should we resurface it or replace it?

If the slabs are mostly level and the cracks are fine, resurfacing can work. If sections have heaved, sunk or pulled away from the coping, replacing the deck with pavers or new stamped concrete is usually the better long term choice. We check the base before recommending either.

Does our homeowners association need to approve a new driveway or patio?

Many Manalapan neighborhoods have an association, and some have rules on materials and colors. We can provide samples and a layout drawing for your submission, alongside any township permit that applies.

Can you widen our driveway for an extra car?

Often, yes. Widening usually touches the apron and sometimes the curb, so township approval may be needed. We check setbacks and drainage first so the added width does not send water toward the garage.

Is Englishtown covered by the same building department?

No. Englishtown is a separate borough with its own offices, even though Manalapan surrounds it. We confirm the right department for your address.
