Sea Bright is a narrow barrier island borough at the northern end of the Monmouth shore, squeezed between the Atlantic and the Shrewsbury River with very little ground between them. It is a mix of beach clubs, restaurants and shops along the main road, condominiums, and single family homes on tight lots. After repeated storm damage, many buildings were rebuilt or raised well above grade. The result is a town where the front door is often a full story up, and the masonry at ground level has to cope with surge, salt and constant wind.
Entries that reach a raised first floor
On an elevated home, the entry is a real piece of construction: a lower stair run, a landing and a connection to the walkway or driveway. We build the masonry portions of that entry, including footings, block cores, concrete steps and stone faced landings, with railings chosen for heavy coastal exposure. A wider landing at the turn makes a long climb with groceries much easier.

Ground level slabs and parking areas
The space beneath and around a raised home usually turns into parking, storage and the route to the beach. We pour durable concrete slabs and walkways that tolerate occasional flooding and rinse clean. Where rules and the lot allow it, gravel or open joint pavers let water drain faster after a storm.
Facades that face the weather
Stucco and masonry facades here get sandblasted by wind and soaked by spray. Small cracks become leaks quickly. Our stucco repair and masonry work seals those openings, rebuilds damaged corners and keeps water out of the wall.
A barrier island checklist
- Flood zone rules may apply to slabs, stairs and anything under the house.
- Tight lots need careful staging, often from the street.
- Seasonal timing matters for businesses and summer homes alike.
- Rinse salt off railings and steps through the year.
We also serve Rumson across the river, Monmouth Beach to the south, and the rest of Monmouth County.
